MAJOR, MAJOR AWARD FOR OLONGAPO CITY

Mayor James ‘Bong’ Gordon, Jr., was selected as the Gawad Parangal Awardee for Outstanding City Mayor together with CSWD Officer Genia ‘Gene’ Eclarino who was chosen as the Most Outstanding City Social Welfare and Development Officer in the entire Philippines in the 14th National Social and Development Forum.

The awarding ceremony will be held at Pryce Plaza Hotel, Cagayan Hill, and Cagayan de Oro City on September 29, 2010 at around 9:00 AM.

“Napaka-supportive ni Mayor sa aming departamento, nakapagpatayo siya ng Center for Youth, Center for Women at iba pa na may kinalaman sa social protection,” said Ms. Eclarino.

The said award is an annual search of the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines Inc. (ALSWDOPI) in recognition of an individual who continue to make a difference in terms of social services

“Sisikapin pa natin ang pagtutulungan para mapaunlad ang Olongapo City,” Mayor Gordon said.
